equinus® - therapy for horses

The application of manual technics from the area of physiotherapy ranks among the oldest methods of medical treatment. For some years now these practices of human medicine have been adapted and successfully used in veterinary science.

The demand for health promoting measures in equine sport for prophylaxis and an increase in performance, but also for rehabilitation, is increasing enormously and is receiving more and more recognition from horse owners. The good results cannot be denied and complement the orthodox methods of the veterinarian in the rehabilitation phases in an ideal way.

The basic principle of the equinus® - therapy system is in an all-embracing way to apply therapy to the causes and not to the symptoms only, which is finding more and more recognition by veterinarians and non-veterinary practitioners.

The equine therapist is not seen as competitor to the veterinarian or non-veterinarian practitioner; quite the opposite, the equine therapist, veterinarian and non-veterinary practitioner work together in cooperation.

equinus® - Therapy for Horses is open to all horses, young, old, large or small, leisure-horses, dressage, hunter-horses and race horses. This equine therapy offers everyone the possibility of increasing the performance of his horse, of preventing overwork and of positively influencing any immediate problems.

The methods used by equinus® are of course complementary to the usual orthodox or alternative healing methods, in order to improve the performance of the horse in a gentle, non-stressful way and to prevent injuries by prophylactic health and fitness measures of the biomechanical structure as well as to support rehabilitation and to shorten recovery time.

By applying an individually worked out therapy treatment to each horse (manual therapy, acupressure, lymphdrainage, active and passive mobilisation, physiotherapy combined with stretching exercises, fitness training, relaxation therapy and high-tech therapies with Laser, Tens, Matrix-Rhythm and magnetic field) the movement, power and stamina is increased and also the convalescence after injury perceptibly shortened. This form of therapy by no means replaces treatment by a veterinarian or non-veterinary practitioner, moreover it is an accompanying or prophylactic method.
